Well I can't really tell you much about this week. It just went by so
fast I don't even know what happened. I'm halfway done with my MTC
stay and I've loved it so far. I can't wait for Japan though cause
everything is going to be amplified and I mean everything.
My Japanese is coming along very well but it is still frustrating
because even though it is a small class of people it is a fast course
and it's frustrating when everyone is trying to understand the same
concept and somehow you get lost too. No worries though I'm putting in
the work during free time and additional studies. I also decided that
I don't know enough people here so I have been talking and meeting a
lot of people who have crazy cool stories and backgrounds. Some people
are way cool and it's just been a neat experience. Along with that I
made a goal that before I leave the MTC I would like to have learned a
little in every language being taught here. So I have been carrying
this little note pad around and I've been learning how to say hello,
how are you? and then how to answer it. So far of the 53 languages being
taught here (not including two different sign languages) I have
learned/written down 35 of them. The biggest problem though is that I
don't think all of the languages supposedly being taught here are
actually currently being taught. So that makes it kinda hard but I
know I will be able to do it eventually as more missionaries start to
show up. But right now I feel like I've talked to almost everyone here.
My companion and I are really starting to figure each other out. He's
not the companion I originally imagined for my self but he's got a
good heart. I also had a nice chat with him about the Brazilian soccer
league in which he seemed fairly confident they were the most
competitive in the world. Highly debatable and not true at all but I
let him have it cause it wasn't worth arguing over. He also taught me
about how Brazilians have sarcasm and how they say things
sarcastically and said America don't do that and I just agreed with
him on that too. Haha I also realized that Brazilians are a little
prideful or at least these ones are. Always saying Brazil is better at
this and Brazil is better at that. Oh well maybe they will be humbled
by something. Nonetheless good people with good hearts.
Also probably funniest moment of the MTC so far is my participation in
the MTC choir. Two weeks in a row I have been singing during the
devotional and my face has been on the large screen and I looked at it
and it happened to be that the way the camera was everyone could tell
I was staring at the screen. So I looked down and then looked back up
to see if I was still there. Haha I was no worries. So I looked down
again then thinking there is no way I'm still up there cause it had
been a while I looked back up and guess who was still there. Yep it
was me and I started laughing/chuckling to my self on the screen. People
would come up to me after the devotional and the next couple of
days when they saw me and tell me that my singing was phenomenal or
ask me if I was part of the choir or just say something about my
looking and laughing. Haha two weeks in a row this happened so I'm not
sure if I should do choir anymore but I don't really have a choice
cause everyone in my branch does it so I don't have anyone to go on
splits with. We will see if there is a third time next week though.
We taught some lessons this week but none of them were all that great
or eventful sadly o say. Every lesson should be eventful so that the
investigator wants to learn more.
I did get the package and the shorts are good. Thank you!
Well love you guys and I hope this week goes as smoothly as possible
with the baby and the Birthdays! Send me some pictures of both!
Love,
Elder Bloomfield
