Hey all,
This is Mason's mom, Kris. Throughout Mason's mission, there are times when I might add a few things, or explain some things. When ever I do that, I will highlight my comments in Yellow so you will know it came from me. The rest will be from him (his spelling, grammar, punctuation, etc)
For some of you reading this, this may be your first time getting weekly updates/emails from missionaries serving for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints, so I wanted to explain a few things to you and if you ever have any questions, please feel free to ask or if you want to be removed from this email list at any time, please let me know that as well.
Things went well with taking Mason to the MTC (Mission Training Center in Provo, Utah). He was so excited and ready to go. This is something he has wanted and planned to do his whole life. He will be there for 9 weeks (until June 21st) while he has intensive study of the Japanese Language. Following his training at the MTC he will fly to Tokyo where he will begin the service and proselyting portion of his mission which will continue for the remainder of his 2 year mission.
Mason can receive/read emails once a week on his pday (preparation day - that is the day they do their laundry, shopping, sight seeing and emailing). You can email Mason at the following email for the next 2 years:
If you want to send him a letter or package by USPS in the mail while he is in Provo, here is his address:

Here is the first letter and pictures we received from Mason:
Hey! so today is my p day for the MTC. All is going well. My Companion is Brazilian and his English isn't bad, but his comprehension is. Ha ha Half of the Elders in my District are Brazilian and I share a room with them. One of them doesn't even speak a lick of English so they all speak in Portuguese to each other and it's kind of annoying and makes it hard to study Nihongo (Japanese) but its okay. Patience is a virtue. Also my companion always wants to be with the Brazilians so he always follows them everywhere and so now I refer to all of them as my companions cause we are always together. They are learning Japanese so that they can go preach to Portuguese people in Tokyo. Lol What a calling! Also we went to the temple and I saw Travis's car in the parking lot. Pretty neat I guess. Also I talked to Niita Choro who is the kid from Saijo that Travis knows. Super nice kid. We had a nice chat in Nihonglish. Haha He is a good guy. Also Japanese grammar is killer, but I know everything will be fine.
One of the Brazilian Elders went through the temple for the first time. It was sweet! He had to have a head set though cause he doesn't speak English. lol kinda funny. My Zone Leaders are on the far right (in the picture below). One of them is the grandson or great grandson of Parley P. Pratt and the other one is actually from Japan but he is here for 9 weeks cause his English is super good. Kinda weird. Also he said his brother served with Travis. His name is Cohen Choro. Also he's the best 3pt shooter in all of Asia supposedly. I believe him but will someone check on that. The two other white elders in the picture are super funny. They are booth going to Sendai. The one with glasses is from Taylorsville, Utah and he reminds me of Dad. Haha I imagine Dad was similar when he was in the MTC. Also he spent thirty minutes pooping in the temple. Hahaha No lie we had to wait for days! The other one is from Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada. Sounds like an interesting place. Those two are the supreme companionship. Also the sisters in my District are dang good at Japanese, but they all ask me questions and every time I'm like I have no idea but they keep asking. Hahahah
Also a name I like for Kara and Kyoshi's baby is Nikko Kenji Inzunza. Nikko(with a line over the o) means happiness, so what could go wrong with that name? If they don't use it, I GOT DIIIBBBBBSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!! Hahaha anyways stay obedient and remove contention from your life and all will be well!
